BFT Video: Cabinet Member Groveling, Egg Prices, And Shoutout To Gen-Z Women

In today's BFT video I talked about Monday's blog post on the latest voting data showing young men turning in droves against American democracy.

I may have also lost my mind while talking about Trump's recent cabinet meeting, one highlighted by never-before-seen levels of groveling to President Musk, who wore a "Trump Was Right About Everything" MAGA-style hat because he is a huge fucking dork.

I don't mean to talk down to anyone about the problem of young guys being influenced by right-wing messaging flooding their social media timelines every minute of every day. It's a powerful force, one that changes your brain and your worldview in deeply insidious ways. Nearly 70 percent of 13 year olds in the US have an internet-connected phone. Ten percent of American kids get a smartphone at six or younger. That's a lot of runway for the algorithm to do its work on radicalizing developing human beings.

I'm not excusing young men for embracing authoritarian rule – they have agency – but we would be foolish to deny the potency of the algorithms created by Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg and whoever runs TikTok.
