BFT Podcast: The Machines Won't Play Elon Musk's Bad-Faith Game
Grok isn't playing ball with Musk's effort to convince people that white South Africans are a persecuted minority

This week was not infrastructure week, but rather Unreality Week, which is somehow less fun.
I wrote on Tuesday about the Trump regime's labeling of white South Africans as refugees as a prime example of how the right tries to create alternate versions of reality in which their policy prescriptions fit nicely. In this one, Afrikaners – who represent 7 percent of the South African population and own more than half of the nation's land – are a persecuted minority in need of rescuing by the United States. It's hard to type that without eating my keyboard.
Elon Musk's AI toy is not playing along with these bad-faith efforts, however.

On this week's BFT podcast, I talked about those unreality-creation efforts and what they might mean for the battle between democracy and unregulated AI. Because we can have one, but we obviously can't have both.
